Caroline & Christian

September 23, 2017

Thirty miles out to sea lies our favorite little island of faded gentility, with eighty-two miles of pristine coastline, untouched dunes, and dining and shopping options that will impress even the most jaded city dwellers. That…and the Chicken Box. While it is our favorite place on earth, it wouldn’t be the same without you – our favorite people!

- Caroline & Christian

The Couple

Caroline & Christian

After meeting in law school, the pair went from study buddies to so much more. Four years later, Christian proposed in stunning fashion at an empty Boston Opera House, a place near and dear to Caroline’s heart based on her many years in the Boston Ballet.

When the couple look to escape, they find Nantucket, “an elbow of sand, all beach, with no background,” to be the most serene of places. What better time and place for a wedding than September 2017 on island!

Schedule

  • Welcome Libations

After our Rehearsal Dinner, we’ll meet you over @ SWR. We’ve spent countless summer evenings here soaking up the postcard sunsets while devouring clam bakes and throwing back enough Life is Goods to sink a ship. Last night before husband and wife – come help us do it right!

  • Reception

No need to front, this is what we have all been waiting for. After some oysters and champagne, make your way under the tent for a picturesque sunset, some Topper’s grub, and all the dancing your feet can handle.

Transportation will be provided to and from the reception venue.

  • Brunch

Despite the night before, according to history we will live to see work on Monday. With that in mind, let’s indulge in some fried eggs, buttery toast and a bloody mary to carry us over. CRU is located next to the Hy-line, so feel free to bring your luggage if you happen to be departing via ferry.

EAT / DRINK / DO / SHOP

EAT

The Pearl

12 Federal Street
Nantucket, MA

Swanky spot for creative cocktails & inventive Asian-inspired seafood, including wok-fried lobster. Best espresso martini on the island.

EAT

Ventuno

21 Federal St
Nantucket, MA

Ventuno, formerly 21 Federal, serves fresh, sophisticated Italian fare. Try to reserve a table on the outdoor patio, one of the most appealing on Nantucket. (Christian can’t get enough of the Strozzapreti)

EAT

LoLa 41

15 S Beach St
Nantucket, MA

A cozy, eclectic sushi bar/bistro and a hot spot among locals, LoLa 41 has something for everyone – sushi, pasta, burgers, and all the cocktails your heart desires.

EAT

Tree Bar

6 Oak St
Nantucket, MA

Nestled in between island restaurants TOWN + QUEEQUEGS – a perfect outdoor spot for brunch, al fresco lunch, or dinner under the lights in the heart of downtown Nantucket.

EAT

Nautilus

12 Cambridge St.
Nantucket, MA

One of the most inventive restaurants to open in the last few years, Nautilus serves Asian fusion food with a nod to the island. This small space packs a powerful culinary (and beverage) punch – the experience will not disappoint.

EAT

Downyflake

18 Sparks Avenue
Nantucket, MA

The island’s best greasy spoon, you’ll spot the Downyflake by its large sign in the shape of a doughnut, for which they’re rightly famous. If you don’t want to venture outside of town, opt for Fog Island Cafe (7 S Water St) or Black Eyed Susan’s (10 India St) instead.
